Our mission for the food bank is to provide basic food needs to our applicants with respect and compassion.
You'll find the food bank team very friendly and eager to serve you.
Our goal is to provide a 3-5 day emergency supply of food once a month per qualified resident,
including canned goods, fresh produce (when available),
refrigerated products, pasta, canned meat, boxed foods, dried foods (rice, beans).

To access the Food Bank, all applicants must provide the following every time they come in:
1. One piece of identification for every person in the household.
2. Proof of address
(Driver's License or CURRENT piece of mail from an official source (phone or utilities bill, document from government agency, etc)
Q: Do I have to be 'unemployed' in order to receive food from the West End Food Bank?
A: No, unemployment is not a factor in which we determine whether or not you are eligible to receive assistance. Income, regardless of the source, and applicable expenses are the determining factors in any decision making process in receiving assistance.
Q: Who can use the West End Food Bank Service?
A: Area boundries are determined through cooperation with other local food banks (district 5) In general the food bank is located to serve applicants on the west side of the city of Moncton.
Presently, the boundary is from the city limits, north of the Petitcodiac River to Vaughan Harvey Blvd., up Vaughan Harvey Blvd. to Millennium Dr (both sides of Millennium) to Killam Dr, then Killam Dr (both sides of Killam) to Edinburgh Dr. (See "Serving Area' Map from side tab)
Q. I'd like to use the Food Bank services, but I don't know to expect for food if I qualify.
A. Items such as: Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Peanut Butter, Macaroni/Spaghetti, Jam, Canned Spaghetti, Tomatoes, Tomato Sauce, Soups, Stove Top Stuffing, Kraft Dinner (or like brand), Hamburger Helper (or like brand), Canned Beans, Vegetables, Meat, Small Fruit, Baking Goods, Flour and Snacks. Typically, a quantity of food that would cover 3-5 days of meal would be provided if available.
Q. How can I make a donation to the West End Food Bank?
A: Simply contact us directly and we will be happy to assist you. Or, you can make your donation securely online via "Canadahelps.org"
Q. Can anybody be refused service at the West End Food Bank?
A: Any applicant can be refused service if they; are unable or unwilling to fulfill application responsibilities, are under the influence of alcohol or drugs of any kind while attempting to be served, are verbally or physically abusive to volunteers while attempting to be served, cause a volunteer to be uncomfortable in any way, are found to be giving or selling food from the West End Food Bank outside the immediate family or have intentionally abused this or other emergency services.
Q. How does the West End Food Bank ensure applicant meet the criteria to be served?
A. All applicants are required to fill out an application and return it to the food bank with all pertinent documentation. All information in the application will be kept personal and confidential. All applicants will be treated with respect and Christian Love.
Q. Is the West End Food Bank part of a larger core of food banks?
A. The West End Food Bank Ltd. is a member of the New Brunswick Association of Food Banks (NBAFB) in good standing and an affiliate member of Food Banks Canada.
